Faculty Research in
Nakivale Refugee Settlement
Exclusive for University Professors, Associate Professors and Senior Researchers
Take a step into one of the world’s largest and longest-running refugee settlements — a place where more than 140,000 people from over 20 countries have been rebuilding their lives for decades.
The Nation Voice Foundation provides facilitated access for university professors, associate professors, and senior researchers to conduct ethical, high-impact fieldwork within the Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda.
The program is designed primarily for small faculty groups of 3–8 participants, although individual applications are also accepted. Stays typically last from 7 days to 4 weeks, and every request is reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis to ensure quality, feasibility, and respect for the community.

The program is open exclusively to university professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, and established senior researchers. We especially welcome small collaborative faculty groups (3–8 participants). Individual applications from qualified scholars are also considered.
This program is designed exclusively for faculty-level researchers and senior scholars. Graduate students and post-docs are not eligible at this time.
